I’m Liz – the Owner/Founder of Plan + Prosper Consulting, I am a mother and business women. I create spreadsheets for everything (I know, I’m a nerd) and live to organize. I have a love for math and believe it is the basis for everything, math is concrete there is a right and a wrong and that has guided me through the years in both business and life.

I began my career while I was still in college, by interning with architecture and engineering firm PS&S. I worked out of their Warren Offices during the school year where I was trained in AutoCAD and ArcView GIS and their satellite office in Absecon during the summer. They were one of the engineering firms building the Borgata Casino (showing my age there). I earned my Bachelor of Engineering with a Concentration in Civil Engineering as well as my Master of Science in Construction Management from Stevens Institute of Technology.

After college I found myself back in Southern New Jersey leaning toward a career in residential development. Although I enjoyed my time at PS&S I knew I didn’t want to be behind a desk, I wanted to be out in the field and see projects come to life. Over the next 15+ years, I had the privilege of working for a local family that was diversified in business which included not only residential development but hotels and restaurants among other ventures.

I have developed residential sites from inception to out sale, handled new construction as well as remodels, and dealt with various regulatory authorities from local to state. These include planning boards for variance approvals as well as NJDEP for CAFRA, Zane and Tidelands permits as just a small example. I was responsible for creating and monitoring budgets, approving payments, overseeing design professionals, construction scheduling and oversight, contract negotiations, real estate coordination for final sales as well as closing on behalf of the owner in some cases.

Over the years my responsibilities expanded to include not only development but also big picture oversight for other businesses including hotels and restaurants. In these areas I would review weekly reporting, monthly/quarterly accountant meetings, as well as year end analysis. For other closely held businesses, I handled the daily bookkeeping, and management. I was also an important part of estate planning, tax planning, and personal finance management. I handled all aspects of personal finances including paying the weekly bills, insurance monitoring, investing funds with financial brokers, long term estate/tax planning, life insurance analysis, distribution and cash flow scheduling/analysis, and much, much more.

This experience and the knowledge I have gained over the years has been invaluable. Now I am taking all this knowledge and making it available to clients through my consulting services.
